Sometimes you just know when it’s time to turn the page—or in this case, simplify. After much thought [and several overanalyzed metaphors], I’ve decided to retire The Friday Club and reintroduce this space as The Ash Files.
Why the change?
Because The Ash Files is already doing the heavy lifting. It’s the name many of you know me by—on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube—and it felt like the obvious choice to bring everything under one roof. Simpler, easier, and, let’s be honest, a little less confusing when we all have too many tabs open anyway.
But more than that, The Ash Files fits what this space has always been: a collection. An archive of moments, thoughts, and the occasional tangent. Some filed neatly, others tossed into “figure it out later.” Files are scattered, specific, and occasionally surprising—just like this space. This newsletter has always been a gathering of stories, reflections, and pointed little details that connect us, and the name just feels like it fits.
Don’t worry, though—nothing else is changing. This is still a space for connection—a line between us. A place to share the sharp, the strange, and the sentimental. And while the name is changing, the tone and rhythm you’ve come to expect aren’t going anywhere. I’ll still be here, overthinking things for your reading pleasure and pressing ‘send’ with equal parts excitement and regret.
I loved The Friday Club, but let’s be honest—it was never the name on the door. The Ash Files is what it’s always been, so let’s stop pretending otherwise and carry on, shall we?
Welcome to The Ash Files. Here’s to whatever’s next.✨
PS: A new post is coming later this week—I had big plans for the holidays, but the festive flu had other ideas. Stay tuned my friends!
—The Ash Files—Where life’s unexpected moments get filed away—sometimes neatly, sometimes under “figure it out later.” From writer/creator ASH, expect weekly musings, honest stories, and a reminder that no one has life entirely figured out [least of all me].✨
Hi, Ash! I'm a great fan of your work and bought your workbook last November.
I wanted to know if you consult?
Hope to hear.
